The South West Herts Vision

In March 2022 we created a draft vision for South West Hertfordshire. This will help develop the Joint Strategic Plan (JSP) and set priorities. As part of our work to create this draft vision, we undertook early engagement. You can see the outcomes from the ‘SW Herts Your Future’ poll undertaken in 2020 on the 'What you told us' page.

We have taken forward this work and undertaken further engagement to seek your views on our vision and other aspects of our emerging plan. For more information on this please go to the Realising Our Potential page.

The process to develop the vision has adopted a fresh and innovative approach that challenges current thinking, considers future societal, lifestyle and technical changes, takes into account South West Hertfordshire's unique features, and engages a wide group of stakeholders including residents, businesses and youth.

JSP Vision Statement

The Here and Now

We have previously run a series of workshops involving local councillors, businesses and key stakeholders. The workshops helped build further perceptions of the opportunities and challenges facing South West Herts today as well as looking forward to changes and trends that may inform how we might live, work, move and play differently in the future. This was the first step towards to building a unique and compelling vision that draws communities and stakeholders together. The workshops are an important part of the work we are doing to listen to local people and involve you in shaping the vision for the future. Please follow the links on the right to view the outputs from these workshops.
